Meeting Potential with Opportunity
James R. Mapp was a high school valedictorian who did not have the resources to complete college. Nevertheless, he deeply valued education, and always understood the importance of passing knowledge on to others.
This future Scholarship page will be dedicated to the scholarly pursuits of students, historians, school districts, museums, and others interested in research, educational programming, student scholarships, speaker bureaus, and/or other mediums designed to educate future generations about the civil rights era which Mr. Mapp championed. We’ll also explore ongoing initiatives to eliminate lingering disparities that continue today.
